MS #1605P: Low Volume Hospitalist/University Town
<100 bed Hospital seeking 2 Hospitalists for initial staffing and elimination/reduction of locums staffing. Candidate with experience and Medical Director potential would be ideal! Currently, the program census is averaging <13 per day, with <4 admits per 24 hours. Local providers supplement the Hospitalist, providing call coverage some nights while program is growing. Call coverage is typically 4-8 calls per night, with a return to the hospital required.
Hospitalists provide ICU coverage and short term vent management, but all other procedures are optional. Inpatient services are provided for community and outlying area Primary Care Physicians.
Our community is anchored by a great University and enjoys many amenities not typically found outside major metro areas. SEC sports, hunting, fishing, youth sports and a lake nearby provide recreational opportunities for all ages. Housing ranges from intown small town to subdivisions to small farms. Affordability of housing is a definite advantage.
In addition to the university, our community is the regional hub for healthcare, retail, banking and other services. We’ve been fortunate to have continuing growth in the recent recession.
Our ideal candidate would be Board Certified or Eligible Internist, but FP and MedPed candidates are also welcomed. Sorry, but we do not qualify for H1 Cap exemption or J1 waiver sponsorship.
